Abstract

Hypothyroidism, a common endocrine disorder, typically presents with fatigue, constipation, and cold intolerance, but as it progresses, it may cause cognitive decline, weight gain, and neuromuscular symptoms like muscle weakness and cramps. This case report discusses a 49-year-old woman presenting with isolated dysarthria, ultimately diagnosed with primary hypothyroidism confirmed by elevated anti-thyroid peroxidase antibodies. After 4 weeks of thyroxine therapy, her symptoms resolved completely. This case emphasizes the importance of considering hypothyroidism as a reversible cause of isolated dysarthria in clinical evaluations.
