Abstract |
A 58-year-old woman was admitted because of rapid growing left breast mass and slowly progressive generalized weakness. She was performed modified radical mastectomy due to infiltrating ductal carcinoma and received following chemotherapy with bromocriptine, 5-FU, MTX, Cyclophosphamide. On 45th hospital day, severe proximal muscle weakness and acute renal failure were developed abruptly, and performed hemodialysis. There is some improvement with steroid therapy, but she was expired 2 month later due to sepsis.
We discribe the clinical and pathologic feature of a patient with dermatomyositis
associated with breast cancer presenting as a sudden, rapid worsening condition leading
to widespread muscle destruction and death.
