Abstract
Following its approval in Japan, zonisamide (Excegran ) has been accepted as a new antiepileptic drug having broad spectrum activity. However, it does not have marketing approval in the US. Clinical trials were suspended in the US because of the high incidence of renal stone development (3.7%). We experienced a case of renal calculus which was identified during the course of zonisamide treatment. We believe this is the first case report of renal stone development suspecting the causal relation to the zonisamide treatment in Korea. Key Words: Zonisamide, renal calculi, epilepsy
